Did you know that the sense of\u00a0smell<\/em>\u00a0triggers more emotional memories<\/a> than any of the other five senses?<\/p>\n

This week I had the pleasure of participating in an exhibition for Maison Martin Margiela\u2019s<\/a> fragrance collection \u2018Replica\u2019<\/a>. The French cult-like brand asked artists and tastemakers (thats me!) from around the world to provide photographs close to their hearts, where details call upon an olfactive and sensorial intimacy. When looking at each photograph, the viewer can discover each moment as though they are looking into a kaleidoscope of memory.<\/p>\n

This work in progress began in Paris, and was <\/span>just celebrated at Site 109<\/a> in the Lower East Side and will live and grow across social media, continuing to create more olfactive and collective memories as a larger community.<\/span><\/p>\n

I decided to take part in this super cool project because I am a big believer in connecting the fragrance I wear to a vivid memory, so every time I experience the scent I am reminded of something beautiful. I also love these scents and their gorgeous packaging! \u00a0The silhouette of each \u2018Replica\u2019 bottle is inspired by classic apothecary jars, and carries a 100 percent cotton label that resembles the tags used on the clothing and accessories for the brand\u2019s original \u2018Replica\u2019 couture collection. The unique pumps are wrapped with a rope to symbolize the authentic reproduction of the couture line.<\/p>\n
