If I had to sum up New York Fashion Week beauty, I would say, for the most part, it\u2019s all about proper skincare, hydration and achieving a glowy (not greasy) lit-from-within complexion. Loving it! Everywhere I turned I saw emollient creams, hydrating illuminators, highlighting blushes and clear glossy balms, adding an appealing gleam to temples, cheekbones and eyes.\u00a0Want proof? This is it.<\/p>\n

At Suno<\/b>, Alice Lane said, \u201cThe less makeup the better. The more you apply, it just ages you. It\u2019s very important to keep things fresh and moist. Because of all the technology now in products, less people are smoking, people are just healthier. It\u2019s about moisture and skincare. The skin is done with Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream<\/a>, which is actually amazing<\/i>. At first I was like, \u2018where are the shades?\u2019 But for some reason it just knows. Maybe someone can explain it to me, but these 5 shades work perfectly on all<\/em> the girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lane even spilled about her favorite moisturizer: \u201cIt\u2019s by Christine Chen<\/a>. It makes my skin really glowy and it doesn\u2019t give you pimples. I love it. So this is what I used on the girls. I am obsessed<\/i> with skincare. I am actually more obsessed with it than makeup.\u201d Me too, Alice, me too.<\/p>\n

\"Backstage<\/a>\"Backstage<\/a> \"Backstage<\/a>Backstage at Rag & Bone,<\/b> Gucci Westman created another radiant look, explaining that she is \u201cbig into skin prep.\u201d Like the girls at Opening Ceremony, her models were treated with Dr. Jart Water Fuse Hydrogel Face Masks<\/a> before their makeup was applied. Wearing a mask before makeup works wonders and you will look and feel so make prettier.<\/p>\n

To achieve the \u201csuper fresh\u201d look, she started with the\u00a0NARS Luminous Moisture Cream<\/a>\u00a0all over the face. She used the\u00a0Radiant Cream Compact Foundation<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Creamy Concealer<\/a>\u00a0[my favorite!], which she\u00a0described as \u201clovely,\u201d to cover any imperfections on the face, topped with a little All Day Luminous Powder Foundation\u00a0(New for Fall 2014; for now try\u00a0Power Foundation<\/a>). The face makeup was only used \u201cas needed.\u201d On the cheeks she used Copacabana Illuminator<\/a> and the Copacabana Multiple<\/a> to catch the light.\u00a0On the lips, she combined two matte lip pencils,\u00a0Bahama Velvet Matte Lip Pencil<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Never Say Never Velvet Matte Lip Pencil<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The brows were \u201cgroomed and brushed up, so they felt\u00a0expensive<\/i>.\u201d On the lid she again used the Copacabana Illuminator<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Copacabana Multiple<\/a>\u00a0with a little Triple X Lipgloss<\/a> added on top. \u201cIt\u2019s all about the shine. The runway is white, so I wanted the beauty to really tie\u00a0everything\u00a0together. It\u2019s all about reality. These girls are so pretty, they don\u2019t really need anything.\u201d Oh, and by the way, this is not the first time we have seen\u00a0lipstick used in an unexpected and untraditional way! It\u00a0seems to be popping up everywhere this season, from Suno\u00a0to\u00a0Mara Hoffman.<\/p>\n

At Thakoon<\/b>, Diane Kendal used a combo of NARS South Beach Multiple<\/a> on the apples of the cheeks topped with\u00a0Illuminator in Orgasm<\/a>. She even added a NARS Triple X Lipgloss<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 like Gucci did at Rag & Bone \u2013 over the lids and up onto the brows to facilitate a \u201cjust out of the water\u201d look. “He wanted the girls to look as if they’d just come out of a swimming pool,” she explained after I asked about the inspo behind the designer’s vision. “What’s quite nice is that it emphasizes any natural discoloration underneath, so it almost looks as if you’re wearing a bit of shadow,” she noted.<\/p>\n

Francelle Daly\u00a0achieved the \u201cintimate, just woke up in a sun-filled loft\u201d idea at\u00a03.1 Phillip Lim<\/b> by layering shimmering shades of\u00a0NARS peach and pink pigments –\u00a0Reckless Blush (New for Spring 2015; for now try\u00a0New Order Blush<\/a>) and right side of Jubilation Dual-Intensity Blush (New for Spring 2015; for now try NARS South Beach Multiple<\/a>) \u2013 on temples, cheekbones, and eyelids. On the lips, he used Guyane Lip Gloss (New for Spring 2015; for now try\u00a0Born This Way Lip Gloss<\/a>).<\/p>\n
